Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium opened in 1924 in downtown Chattanooga as a memorial to Hamilton County servicemen from World War I, and it quickly became one of the city’s main civic and entertainment hubs. The building features a neoclassical exterior with a large collonaded façade and a broad, flexible auditorium designed for both public ceremonies and large touring productions.
It seats around 3,800 guests and functions as one of the largest performance spaces in the region. The venue hosts Broadway tours, symphony performances, concerts, comedy, graduations, and community events. Over the decades, it has undergone major renovations to update its lighting, sound, and seating while preserving its historic character.
